Dan Johnson
Dan has been climbing in Tasmania for many years and enjoys developing new climbs when not guiding. You will often see Dan on our school outdoor ed programmes as well as looking after visitor climbers during the tourist season. Dan is qualified with the TCIA to Single Pitch Guide level.
Dan was Born in Tassie and lived here his whole life and spent all his childhood adventuring in the outdoors, started climbing as a school kid.
He took a break for a while and competed in rodeo for 10+ years. Dan is a Builder by trade, currently self employed farming full time running an agricultural contracting business, practicing in every trade known to man.
Part time rock climbing guide (there is hours left in a day?) adventure guiding pillars, to abseiling school groups, or training the next generation.
Climbing recreationally is Dan’s hobby and he is blessed to be able to share it with others, new routing and cliff discovery with friends is without doubt his favourite climbing memories. There isn’t a climbing destination in the world that Dan doesn’t dream of visiting, but for now family and home keeps him in Tasmania here searching for the next adventure just outside his backdoor.
